There's a special place in my heart for early childhood development. After nearly a decade working as a nanny, teaching swim lessons to children and interning as an art teacher in elementary schools, I wondered if I could introduce an engaging, stimulating yoga practice to the children I meet. My idea turned into Little Limbs Yoga: a fun, accessible yoga program for babies, toddlers, their parents and caregivers to experience together and practice long after class ends.

Little Limbs Yoga started at the Seattle Children's Museum in the fall of 2017, and then grew to local Seattle daycares and preschools. With infants, Little Limbs Yoga encourages healthy touch and playful interaction, aids digestion, improves circulation and soothes teething. With toddlers, preschoolers and elementary aged children, I encourage children to build and expand on that foundation through a story-based yoga adventure. Children increase their self esteem and body awareness in a non-competitive group, while learning to develop a relationship with their inner self. Little Limbs Yoga empowers children with tools readily available, like their breath and their body, to promote relaxation, manage stress and build concentration, on and off the mat.
